I've been digging through some old boxes, trying to get rid of the old paper. Found lots of copies of stuff I really don't need anymore, but there were also some treasure. Like this one. Probably my oldest preserved drawings. Dated 1983. when I was thirteen years old.
Through the most of my teenage years I would be drawing just heads. Rarely it would be figures and then it would usually be "studies" from the comic artists I loved.
Here you can see soldier from Hugo Pratt's "Ernie Pike", R.M. Guerra's "Elmer Jones" and a soldier from Bane Kerac's "Cat Claw". If I remember correctly. : )
I remember trying out drawing figures from my head, but dissatisfaction kept me from preserving most of them. Here are two survived Conans I drew when I was sixteen.
