Just like many young artists I was usually drawing with pencil and had a hard time switching to ink. I was scared I'll ruin the drawings I'd be happy with. And I usually did.
Artists I admired and tried to learn from (Jean Giraud Moebius, Herman Huppen, Igor Kordej, Alfonso Font) were all masters of hatching in their own way. So, naturally I wanted to do it too.
But very soon in my twenties as I started working professionally I've ditched it, unable to reach even the lowest level of satisfaction with the results.
Also, here you can see my attempts to come up with some signature. One version looked too much like swastika, while the other somewhat reminded me of hammer and sickle .
So, very soon I've ditched them both. : )
