Mafest report

OK, this is not actually a report about the Festival, it's about how I had fun with friends. Some of those pics took Mrva (the cool ones), some Bob, some me (the crappy ones).

The three of us travelled to Split in a sleeping car. Bob lulled us to sleep reading Kurt Vonnegut. Damir Žitko and his brother drove us from there to Baška Voda (near Makarska), where we stayed in luxurious hotel. BIG, BIG, BIG THANKS to Dado and Dado, who organized our stay and the whole festival.

Makarska is beautiful, with mountain Biokovo ascending in the background too big too catch on one photo.

Alfredo Castelli, the writer and Lucio Filippucci, one of the artsits on Martin Mystere were this year's special guests. Hrmmmm ... Castelli's not here on the picture. The one in the middle is Filippucci, there's Dado and Dado on his left.

Giulia Brusco and Matt Hollingsworth were another foreign guests. Kinda, since Matt lives in Zagreb now. Besides being great colorists, they're both fantastic people that win you over in a minute!

I have to admit I missed most of the program, but did a lot of drinking with friends. Some of them caught on camera...

We weren't drinking all the time. During the day I was gathering my strength for the night and tried to push some food down my throat, chilling with the crew.

Conan the barbarian in Makarska!!!!

I'm packing my things and leaving tonight for Makarska where Mafest is held from 18th to 20th of May. It's gonna be lots of fun and maybe I'll post some photos while I'm there. If not, there'll be extensive report when I'm back. The drawing I'm posting here is done for the charity auction that's gonna be held there on Saturday, aiming to help a kid that needs an operation.

Finally I'm done! Tonci has couple of pages to color and everything's ready for print!

I'll let you know where and when you can get the book, as soon as I find out myself. Stay tuned.

Original Art Sale

I am happy and proud to announce that I became one of the artists selling their work at Splash Page Art! They are selling original art from some of my favourite artists like Duncan Fegredo, John Paul Leon, Sean Philips, Cliff Chiang, Cameron Stewart, Jock and many others. For now, pages from "Y - the Last Man", issues 32-35, 39, and 41, are available, but in time there'll be more (including pages from "Outlaw Nation" and "Lady Johanna Constantine"). Saturday Night Fever

I had a great time at Mrva's place last night with him, Bob and Joza. Boys teamed up and produced a storyboard for the comercial and I've (almost) finished Mister Meow story. Just scanning and some final touches left to do.

Teasing Tom

After a couple of months of waiting, I got the green light for a comic book that's telling a story about Tomislav, the first Croatian king. It's a 14-paged piece, written by (who else?) Darko Macan. I'm doing pencils and inks, and Tonci Zonjic will do the coloring. The deadline is short, of course, so expect frequent updates with some work in progress and (later) finished art. But for now, just a teaser... >:)

Mister Meow

Here are few panels from Robert Solanovic's Mister Meow short story I'm inkining. Gettin' closer to finishing it. More work already awaits. Guess idle days are over and I'm happy for it.
