Mess

Don't feel like doodling and work looks all the same, so I've reached for the folders with old random stuff. Found this.

It's a crappy drawing and, if I remember correctly, there wasn't any penciling here. I think I didn't even knew what to draw, just wanted to try some dirty inks. That was before Chas.
Anyway, now that I ran into it I've noticed it's not completely crap. I like his face ...

Winsor & Newton

Every now and then (usually by young, or not so young, inspiring artists) I get asked about the brush I use for inking. My answer is always Winsor & Newton, series 7, size 3.
Here's a little example of what you can do with it, with a little bit of practice.

I've inked the whole panel with brush. Except for the straight lines, of course. Enlarge the pic to see it 1:1 as the original drawing.

I've erased the pencil, corrected some details with white pen and scanned it as line art.

Normally I'd ink the small figures in the background with nib, but this time I did it just to show the range of the brush.

Time Jumper

A little bit more then a year ago, I was offered to give it a try at Stan Lee's new multimedia project (in co-production with Disney Studios) called Time Jumper. I had some doubts about it, but you don't just pass on a chance to work with legend, so I did some samples. If it's true what I was told, out of some number of artists I got into finale with one opponent, which eventually - won. Now that I saw the final product, it's obvious they wanted somebody less ... errr, old-fashioned?
And I'm not sad or jealous one bit for not getting this job. It would probably include much more coordination and various requests then actual drawing and I'd go nuts. See, I'm spoiled - I just wanna draw comics! : )
Anyway, now that the whole project is in motion, I thought I might show you some of my proposals ...

Stereostrip

Udruga Odo' ja! početkom je godine raspisala strip natječaj. U petak, 12. veljače u Klubu SC biti će otvorena izložba radova koje je odabrao žiri. Sa imenima većine sudionika natječaja se po prvi put susrećem, što me čini još radoznalijim. Glavnu nagradu žirija je dobila Leona Kadijević, a organizirano je i glasanje publike, čiji će pobjednik biti proglašen na zatvaranju izložbe 20. veljače.
Istim povodom, na istom mjestu u subotu, 13. veljače u 19 sati će biti održana tribina na kojoj će sudjelovati Darko Macan, Sonja Gašperov, Srećko Puntarić - Felix i jorz truli. Dođite, podržite! : )

I apologize for this violent outburst of racism, but for months now comments on my blog have been exposed to some Chinese spam. I've been patiently erasing them, hoping they'll go away, but it only got worse. I hate word verification, but now I have to enable it. Skate or die!!!

This is possibly the closest I've come to drawing superheros, which is still far away. I can't recall if there actually was a superhero with skateboard? There must've been some in the '80's, huh?
And ... is there among you fans of pinball machines? Remember "Skate or die"? : )
